An all-female workforce at Ford Mexico plant in Cuautitlan has made history in the automobile industry by introducing the company’s first car made exclusively by women. They make the attractive and eco-friendly Mustang Match-E, a battery electric compact crossover SUV.
Since 2020, this trailblazing all-female auto team has been building these SUVs at the aforementioned Ford plant in México state. Ford Mexico’s CEO is also a female – Luz Elena Castillo, and she couldn’t be more thrilled with the team’s success.
As Ford’s most productive factory worldwide, the plant decided to add to its progress by catapulting these women forward in the manufacturing process – and beyond. According to Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who praised the plant’s forward-thinking philosophy, there are also women working at managerial levels at the factory. “The gender perspective of Ford is very good,” he said. “We are very happy that Mexico is exporting and producing these vehicles that are not the future, they are already the present.”
